Examples Of Finding Accommodation To Individual Requirments
A. Henry Whittley should use a university college.
Features of the accommodation: The accommodation is single with en suite and twin share. It includes utilities, internet including Wi Fi access, phone line and telephone, weekly room cleaning, catered meals (3 meals a day, 7 days a week) and a fully furnished room with a bed, mattress, wardrobe, desk, study chair and lounge chair. There are shared bathrooms, kitchenette and laundry rooms are provided in each building. Bed sheets are also provided and fresh bed sheets are available each week. Residents also receive a free membership to Sydney Uni Sports and Fitness and to the University of Sydney Union.
Location of the accommodation: 10 Missenden Road, Camperdown. Building CG6 (St John’s College)
Cost of the accommodation: $478 per week for a single standard room ($125 application fee).
Positives and negatives of this form of accommodation:
Positives: All necessities are provided (telephone, Wi fi), the room is furnished with a bed provided, utilities are available not to mention all meals are cooked. Also, the property is within the grounds of the university making it easier for the individual to travel. The advantages of these available services are that they save time and money.
Negatives: The negatives of this accommodation include the fact that it only provides bed sheets. All other bed linen and towels is to be supplied by the tenant. Bathroom, kitchenette and the laundry are shared and may not be available at the time you require to use them. If shared occupants are not hygienic, this will be an important matter to deal with. Your laundry services are not included, (this is a time consuming chore and needs to be rostered with other occupants) to avoid disputes. Even though the cost of the room provides meals, you may not like the meals you are receiving or you may not be there for every meal, therefore you are paying for food you don’t like or receive.
B. Rebecca Henderson share home:

Features of the accommodation: The accommodation is a neat and tidy studio apartment with a separate kitchen and bathroom located in a security building. There are shared laundry facilities available. Not to mention, the location is close to shops, cafes and transport.
Location of the accommodation: 24/640 Crown Street SURRY HILLS, Sydney Region
Cost of the accommodation: $290 per week and a bond of $1,160
Positives and negatives of this form of accommodation:
Positives: The accommodation has a reasonable rent price of $290 per week as Surry Hills is an expensive region of Sydney. At the same time, the size of the studio apartment is practical as Rebecca is a hairdresser that was looking to keep her costs down. Meanwhile, the location of the property is in Surry Hills where she works so she has the option of walking or even catching public transport which is near the studio. The location of the property allows her to keep her costs low on transportation.
Negatives: The kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities are all shared with other people as they are located in the security building and may not be available at the point of time you need to use them. This may cause inconvenience as Rebecca will have to constantly travel to and from the apartment. There will also be a lack of hygiene as facilities will be used by others that may be messy and unhygienic. Furthermore, there will be a lack of privacy as you may come into contact with other people whether you have to cook food, use the bathroom or wash your clothes.
